{August 10, 2008}   #78 - Get a pedicure once a month.

I’ve been doing well on this one - I wonder why!  This weekend I went down to Houston to visit Rebecca, and got a pedi while I was at it. :)  It spun me off on showing her the Anjeleah Johnson skit about nail salons, which was so funny because its SO TRUE!

We also hung out, had general girly fun, and watched the Olympics.  I’m now a five minute fan of R-A-J, and swoon over watch Michael Phelps every chance I get.  I’m on top of it!  Good times, good times! :)

{August 8, 2008}   Update!

4. Work out 5x a week again - Hells yeah, I’m up to 6 or 7!

30. Hang out with the IBM crew more often. - 3 times over the last week!! Woo! Love it!

38. Cook at least once a week - so, included with my workout plan, I’m also on a specific diet.. I’m actually cooking twice a week or more now! It would be more, but, well - its only me here.. and sometimes I do cook for Ms. Brandy. :)

57. Send a letter to someone via Snail Mail. - times TWO! I sent letters and pictures to my friends Moses and Chris this week. I used my pretty stationary and stickers. :)

59. Increase my water intake - If I don’t drink at least 60 oz. of water a day, I get sooooo dehydrated with how much I’m workin’ it…

93. Start a dinner club - OK, so I can’t take 100% credit on this one, I have to share it with Sarah.. we had begun the “Sunday Dinners” thing a while back, but it dropped when winter ended. We’ve resurrected that one! Its definitely not a consistent thing, but we did figure out the rotation and planned some themes. :)

96. Get in touch with old friends - Facebook is a beautiful thing.  I’ve gotten in touch with Robert, Tim, Richard, Parrish… lots of them! YAY!!!

98. Make a new friend outside of normal circles - I think I’ve taken care of this one! More on that later.

{July 15, 2008}   #72 - Go for a girl’s weekend.

I got home from Salt Lake City and Twin Falls, and pretty much bolted from there to get to Galveston for our planned Girl’s trip. We spent the weekend chilling out at the beach, having general girly fun with each other, and relaxing.  It was a much needed break - we definitely need to make it longer next time!!

{July 10, 2008}   #62 - Go somewhere new in the US. (2/2)

I will actually have 4 by the end of this week!  The Travel Blog has been updated accordingly. :)

Earlier this week, I went to Salt Lake City, UT and Park City, UT.  Those places are definitely pretty places to visit, and there were a ton of things to do/see. I didn’t get enough time to do it all - I’d probably go again given the chance, but hopefully with other people next time.  I’m not a stranger to traveling alone, but I have to say that some sights aren’t worth seeing without someone to share it with.  I would love to come back and visit Moab (the pretty desert area of Utah).   Work kept me on my toes, but I was still able to chill out every night. Last night, I even got to hang out with Ruben! Yay! My old Manila buddy!  It was really good to catch up - I’ve missed him.

I’m currently in Twin Falls, ID.  I won’t get to spend much time here at all - but so far it seems like a pretty decent place.  The people here have been nothing but nice, I’ve gotten lots of great feedback for work so far, and its only been a morning.   I’m taking a break since I’ve been in and out of meetings, and am trying to decompress and download a little.

This weekend I’ll be in Galveston with friends.. that’ll be a whole other blog entry. I’ve never been there, though (not that I remember anyhow), so it’ll count for going somewhere new. :)

As usual.. I find out a lot about myself while I travel.  Being on planes and seeing new things really gives me personal perspective - especially when I’m alone - due to the time spent sitting and waiting to board, land, drive, eat, etc.  Even though I’ve been crazy busy and tired as hell, I definitely feel tons happier having been out here!

{June 30, 2008}   #12 - Replace all my old undies.

Hooray!

Hooray for AWESOME friends who keep up with you and know you want to replace all your undies!

Hooray for VS Gift Cards!

Hooray for Semi-Annual Sale.

GOAL!!!

{June 23, 2008}   #86 - Avoid people who exhibit stalker-like behavior.

Avoidance tactics - deployed!  I know its a bit extreme, but I feel its kind of necessary at this point in time. I’ll likely stop caring about it later on, though. :)

{June 15, 2008}   #25 - Keep a plant alive for 101 days.

Success!

This is kind of a breakthrough - I have a SERIOUS black thumb. I am not kidding when I say I typically kill every single plant I come into possession of. I used to try and plant things at my old house, or keep them in pots… annuals, perennials, ferns - you name it! I would even kill cactus. I know you have to water them periodically and all that, but I’d always accidentally kill them anyways.

So, Rebecca gave me a plant of hers when she moved to Colorado - and I’m counting this one in the fact that it is STILL ALIVE! Granted, its Bamboo - but still! Alive!! I’ve seen other people kill those! Its been two years, and that one has kept up.. so, I’m not exactly counting it, just noting it.

The other one - I bought a pot of succulents for my desk a while back. I admit - I have killed off about half of them - but I did successfully keep two alive. Yay. Its a feat, especially considering I did things like take off to Manila for a couple of weeks and not water it at all.

Well, its a step anyhow.:)

{June 2, 2008}   Volvo vs. Volvo.. FIGHT!

That’s right folks…

“Clash of the Titans”

First off, I’m ok - just a little (understandably) ticked off.  Am a little sore in the neck, yadda yadda yadda, but more mad that I’m stuck and can’t really go work out. Well, I could make someone pick me up, but I don’t like to inconvenience people. So, if you want me to cook for you before I get a rental car, you can take me to HEB or something. I digress.

I was driving home from getting my car washed (!!!), and an older Volvo pulled out in front of me to turn left in front of the HEB by my place.  I was full on going down 620, and had to brake pretty hard.  There was traffic coming from the other way, so I could pretty much only brace myself and hit the damn car (This can be classified as a 101 in the form of #29). Long story short, everyone is OK - the other car definitely had more damage as the tire was crooked from its broken axl.. it also had a broken headlight, wouldn’t turn off, and had to be towed.  My car is still driveable - though I probably won’t do much driving just in case, until I get a rental.  The damage doesn’t look all that bad, thankfully - I’m betting it’ll take a couple of weeks though.  Boo… my poor baby.
